A growing number of utility companies are starting to offer incentives to customers who are willing to reduce their power usage during certain peak times. Taking advantage of this has not been easy though – UNTIL NOW. Check with your local utility company for incentives.

ASAP Timers has an answer. Water heater timers with pre-programmed settings for “off” periods. 

• The data set is pre-programmed for “off” times. This can correspond to your utility company’s peak load periods so you can benefit from their incentives.
  
  
• Additional “off” times can be specified by you as part of the pre-programming, end users cannot modify these programs.

The ASAP Pre-Programmed Water Heater Timer is ideal for apartments and multi-family properties. This is a stand-alone, wall-mounted module that is typically mounted on the wall next to the water heater in an apartment.  The timer is inserted into the line between the water heater circuit breaker and the water heater, now meeting the National Electrical Code as for having a service disconnect located at the water heater.
 

The ASAP Timer comes pre-programmed with the utility company’s specific “off” times for peak load periods. If your utility company does not yet have such a program, ASAP Timers can pre-program your timers to your specifications.

The multi-family manager has the ability to schedule 3 periods to stop heating water. For your tenants the timer comes with an override button to allow one 60-minute period of water heating during the pre-programmed off periods for special circumstances.

If the utility company ever needs to change these “off” times based on new peak load information, a secure plug-in dongle (similar to a USB flash drive) is used. This enables the change to be made quickly and error-free with no hassle to your tenants.

A watchdog system and a 10-year battery to restore settings and times immediately after power outages protect the timer systems.
